Maybe. I can't reproduce what you described with my DVDs. Please try 
using tccat by hand without the splitpipe and tcdemux stuff and check if
the created VOBs are corrupt, too.

  tccat -t dvd -T 1,-1,1 -i /dev/dvd | split -b 1024m - movie

If yes, this is most likely no dvd::rip issue. Otherwise we'll have to 
debug deeper, but first try ripping by hand, to check which program is 
affected.
