[dvd::rip] problems using opendivx

Subject: [dvd::rip] problems using opendivx

Hi,

Another problem: when ripping a DVD, if I use divx4 for the video codec, I get blue and red dots on dark screens. When trying to use opendivx (divx4linux, dated 2001.08.24 or 2001.10.25), the produced avi does not play with xine, it says:

xine-panel: PLAY
xine_play: xine open ShadowOfTheVampire-3.avi, start pos = 0, start time = 0 (sec)
xine: using input plugin >file< for this MRL.
demux_avi: 499 frames
xine: using demuxer plugin >AVI< for this MRL.
demux_avi: video format = DIVX, audio format = 0x55
demux_avi: audio type MPEG layer 2/3 (wFormatTag 0x55)
demux_avi: video codec >ISO-MPEG4 or OpenDivx format<
metronom: audio stream start...
metronom: waiting for video to start...
metronom: video stream start...
video_decoder: using decoder >ffmpeg video decoder<
metronom: audio stream start...done
audio_loop: using decoder >mad<
metronom: audio stream end
metronom: waiting for video to end...
demux_avi: demux loop finished.
xine_play: demuxer failed to start
video_out: thread created
metronom: video stream end
xine_stop
xine_stop ignored

with aviplay, it plays, but only the sound (the display is bad):

What could be the problem?
