Ok, I knew that this time will come... ;)

Because I'm personally not very interested in the chapter mode of 
dvd::rip, my TODO list is getting longer and longer and this seems to be
definitely no easy task, I encourage you extending dvd::rip with this 
feature on your own or to find someone, who want's to do it ;) If I like
the solution I'll add your patch to the official distribution.
