[dvd::rip] Transcoding pass 1 at 3300% and still going?

Subject: [dvd::rip] Transcoding pass 1 at 3300% and still going?

Hello.
I'm hoping this is something others have seen. I
realize it's probably a transcode issue, but I'm
hoping this will be a better forum to ask for help
than the transcode list.
Basically, the subject line says it all: transcoding
on pass 1 has taken 19 hours on a PII-266 for a 3-hour
movie,and is now at 3300%. I've looked in the
docs/faq/list archive and not found references to this
behaviour.
I'm using the xvid codec from a freshrpms 0.9.2
package and transcode 0.6.11 compiled from the source.
 Here is the transcode command from the dvd::rip
logfile:

Executing command: mkdir -m 0775 -p
'/home/pwm/ripdata/som/tmp' && cd
/home/pwm/ripdata/som/tmp && dr_exec transcode -a 1 -x
vob,null -i /home/pwm/ripdata/som/vob/001 -w 966 -b
128,0,0 -s 1.000 --a52_drc_off -V  -f
24,1 -g 720x480 -M 2 -Y 44,8,44,8 -B 15,10,8 -R 1 -y
xvid,null --psu_mode --nav_seek
/home/pwm/ripdata/som/tmp/som-001-nav.log --no_split
-o /dev/null --print_status 20 && echo DVDRIP_SUCCESS

I realize a PII-266 is slow, but 19 hours seems
excessive and 3300% seems illogical.  I mean, I'm a
patient guy, but...

Thanks,
-paul
