Hi folks,
i'm running dvd::rip (0.50.16) in cluster-mode with the following
configuration:
- 1 machine acts as nfs-server (does nothing else for dvd::rip)
- 4 diskless-machines acting as transcode-nodes
- 1 standard-machine acting as transcode-node
- 1 standard-machine w/ dvd-drive acts as control-station AND as node
All machines shares the nfs-drive (there is no local-drive configured)
After ripping the DVD i can add the project to the cluster and start
encoding.
Good news: All engines were running very well with at least 25-70 fps
per node. All video-chunks were transcoded (avi/ffmpeg) really fast.
But: The audio-track still is transcoded as the last job even if it
is the first job on the list. All nodes went to idle-state waiting
for the audio-job. So, how can i treat the audio-job that way, that
it will be transcoded first? And how can i setup this job to be done
on a specific (the fastest) node?
Next question: When i setup the nfs-server to act as a node too and
mark in the node-configuration that is has a local-drive, all other
nodes will suffer at 2-4 fps! Why?
Cheers and thanks for help
-Rolf
@Joern: Thanks for dvd::rip - cool software which is able to make
my cluster hot
