Hello everyone!
I fought with the source installations on Debian for a few days to get
dvdrip up and running, and then found that upgrading my debian from
testing to unstable allowed everything to be done by apt-get! In any
case, I have all the prereq programs installed via apt-get and the
necessary perl mods supplied by the cpan website, but I still have a
problem whenever i try to run dvdrip. From the CLI,
/usr/local/Video-DVDRip-0.97.1/dvdrip produces the following pango
errors, which I have not had any luck finding on google.com/linux or
the pango archive. --

Pango-CRITICAL **: _pango_engine_shape_shape: assertion `PANGO_IS_FONT

I removed my pango which had been successfully compiled from the
source code, then had apt-get install, uninstall, and then reinstall
the full battery of pango and libpango utilities. It spit these same
erros out regardless.
If anyone has the time to point me in the right direction to get this
repaired, I would greatly appreciate it!
