OK. TBH, I have never understood the whole Zoom Calculator, but giving
it a try, I have changed "Auto clipping" to "Yes - use clip1". What am
I supposed to do now? I see a whole list of Zoom calculations, none of
which show any kind of clipping in Clip1. Clip2 does show some
clippings, nothing more than 4 for any of the clip values though.

Indeed. This is what I do.

Again, what I do currently. I just think (once black bar clipping is
implemented) much of this could be defaulted sanely to completely remove
black bars precisely.

Yeah, I was promoting (automatically, in clip1 with auto-detection)
clipping as close to the picture as you can and still fast resize, then
clip the remaining in clip2.

Oh? This method causes an aspect ratio error?

Indeed. I just want to default/automate some of the more mundane
tasks. :-)

BTW: with the the gtk2 version, I don't seem to be able to select a top
clip1 of 56 and any value > 24 for bottom clipping and use fast
resizing. Shouldn't any multiple of 8 for the bottom be allowed and
still allow fast resizing?
