Hmm, I'd say if your network doesn't work without the "soft" option,
then you should set it ;) Hopefully the cluster will just work. If not,
with or without the "soft" option, you're in serious trouble, but I
can't imagine that this would be dvd::rip specific, since dvd::rip
simply expects the network file system to work "normally". dvd::rip
itself doesn't depend on a specific network file system, NFS is just
very easy to setup, that's why it's mentioned in the docs. But you could
try e.g. smb instead, or any other network filesystem supported by
Linux.
