Just nitpicking for the historians... ;) dvd::rip itself has no problem
with NPTL, it's not multi-threaded at all, it's event-driven. But in 
particular transcode has some NPTL issues, because transcode uses 
threads very intensely, and obviously with a lot of "black magic" which
makes it hard for the new maintainers to make it NPTL compatible ;) 
dvd::rip just tries to make the neccessary transcode NPTL workarounding
more comfortable...
