Although "unstable" and "sid" should be the same: the apt/sources.list 
entries on Christian's homepage use "sid", and I think this does matter.

But the major point is that dvd::rip 0.97 is in the experimental tree, 
so your apt/sources.list should look like this:

  deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ experimental main
  deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ sid main

P.S.: a side note to Triffid: you're basically right, but as I'm 
interested in many users testing dvd::rip 0.97 I think it's ok that such
distro specific stuff is discussed here, if it's low traffic and 
distro-flamewar-free ;)
