mine finds the tools fine with an nptl enabled glibc, but mine has the linuxthreads fallback as well, so i think its isolated to nptl-only systems

it should work ok as long as you don't have nptlonly set.

NPTL is good, but its relatively new and not supported too well, especially by dvdrip. dvdrip uses the old linuxthreads fallback if available, and does very strange things if it can't use it.

Just nitpicking for the historians... ;) dvd::rip itself has no problem
with NPTL, it's not multi-threaded at all, it's event-driven. But in particular transcode has some NPTL issues, because transcode uses threads very intensely, and obviously with a lot of "black magic" which
makes it hard for the new maintainers to make it NPTL compatible ;) dvd::rip just tries to make the neccessary transcode NPTL workarounding
more comfortable...

I have found dvd::rip to have one particular problem w/ NPTL: it is
unable to detect any of the tools it depends on when those tools are
compiled against the NPTL glibc. Is there a reason for this? (happens
regardless of the setting of Workaround NPTL)
