Hi Joern,
Thanks for the pointers, you may have guessed I am a newboy at Linux.
I have attached the output.txt file and I think I see the problem.
The hdc5 where my /Data files are situated is a VFAT file system and I read
somewhere that ln -s is not supported by this file system.
How can I change my file system without causing a catastrophy ?

Bill

Added note
The reason I have VFAT file system is that I still dual boot to windows for
certain applications - scanning as my scanner is not SANE supported.
Is there a work around for this problem in dvd::rip, such as create a direct
link (ln) to a .bin file in the same directory as the .svcd file and then
delete after burn ?
