i get between 9 and 15 fps with these options: xvid, two pass, wide motion search, 720x400, 25fps, 160kbit audio, target: one 700mb file, on an athlon xp 2400+ w/ 1gb ddr400 dual channel ram.

target filesize is probably significant - it takes more time to squish data into less space, and i think the different motion searches make a large impact on encoding time too.

Errm... Okay, does anybody else have an idea how fast I should be able to encode a 704 by 528 image with fast resize, to Xvid4 with the interlace encode option set and no de-interlacing, using two pass encoding. I get about 6.3 Fps on the second pass on my Athlon-XP 2000.
