Hi... Can you guys tell if dvdrip can transcode a DivX avi file
(normally xvid and mp3) back to DVD-Video data, so I can burn it on a
DVD-R(W) and watch it on my standard player ?
You don't wnt to recode Div-X or XviD back to MPEG-2 data because the
quality-loss would be too high. If you really want to play it on
standardplayers give the mplayer-tools (mencoder) a chance to recode it
to mpeg-1 (VCD-standards) so numb players may play it...
If not, what can you tell
me about doing this on linux? Can you recommend any documentation? I
already searched google, but only comes those messy pages with windows
software/procedures...
Have you ever thought about buying another player which decodes Xvid and
plays different language-tracks?
I just sold my old one at eBay and am happyly watching my movies on my
Yamada DVX-6600.
No this is not an advertisement, I just like this one :-)
Thanks for the help

You are always welcome.
