Hi Robert & list
I'm seeing the same issue under SuSE 9.3 while I'm transcoding (some,
but not all) videos in a 5 machine cluster. I haven't found a fix yet.
Very astute of you to notice the trailing slash triggers it. I can see
the same on my system when I run the commands manually.
Video-DVDRip-0.52.6-0.pm.0
transcode-1.0.0-0.pm.0
glibc-2.3.4-23.3

Dear DVDRip users,
I like DVDRip, however, I faced a problem, which might be related to
the used combination dvdrip/transcode. I switched to FC3 quite
recently, having a pretty standard installation (I used yum for the
installation of dvdrip.).
Installed versions are:
- dvdrip 0.52.5
- transcode 1.0.0
- glibc 2.3.3
I could not get a preview frame, always leading to "transcode can't
find this frame." (Surprisingly it worked for one film, but nor for
the next.). Playing around with the debug information, I could isolate
the problem to tccat:
tccat -i "/home/robert/.dvdrip/DVDRip/unnamed/vob/001/" -t vob |
mplayer - works fine
tccat -i "/home/robert/.dvdrip/DVDRip/SpyGame/vob/001" -t vob |
mplayer - does not work and leads to "*** glibc detected *** double
free or corruption: 0x0936a038 ***".
But the second version (without the trailing slash within the
pathname) is what DVDRip is using.
My questions are now:
- Has anybody else here found this, and how did you solve it?
- Does it make sense to modify the corresponding perl module to send
this trailing slash to transcode? Which module and where to add it (I
know some Perl, but I am not an experienced programmer.)?
Thank you an advance.
Best regards
Robert Kormann
