That's actually Ok.

We had a similar problem recently on Debian sid, where transcode's 
tcmodinfo command hangs on some modules. But that was with transcode >=
1.0.0, and I thought 0.6.14 isn't affected at all. On the other hand the
problem was connected to ImageMagick, probably it can happen with 0.6.14
as well due to changes of your ImageMagick packages.

To verify this please execute the following commands:

  tcmodinfo -i compare
  tcmodinfo -i logo

They should print some information about the module parameters, but 
probably they just hang. In that case you could try to upgrade your 
transcode version to 1.0.1 (and by the way dvd::rip to 0.97.4 ;).
