First thanks for the detailed report including all version numbers.
You're using transcode 1.0.0, which is in general not recommended, since
it has some (more or less well known) bugs. transcode 1.0.1 works well.
transcode 1.0.2 was released yesterday and I hadn't the time to test it
myself, but since it's a bugfix release it should work as well.
So try upgrading your transcode.
If this doesn't help try activating/disabling dvd::rip's "Workaround
transcode NPTL bugs" setting in the preferences.
