I have just to give informations about using Locales with dvdrip, and how to 
solve problem which could be like I have encounter.

in my environnement, there where two variables:
LANGUAGE=fr_FR:fr
LANG=fr_FR

and the execution of dvdrip give me bad characters on screen,  when accents 
are presents.
 To solve this problem, I have deleted the definition of LANGUAGE, because it 
is used in priority before LANG.
