So obviously the last transcode command which creates the .m2v (before 
mplex is executed) failed.

The general procedure of reporting problems is described here:

For your issue version numbers of dvd::rip, transcode and mjpegtools are
essential. And the full failing transcode command (mentioned above), 
including its output (execute it by hand to get this).
