I took a deeper look into this problem. The Perl module dvd::rip uses
for l10n (Locale::TextDomain) has a bug (unfortunately the author
doesn't accept this as a bug, instead he claims the whole utf-8 handling
in Perl a bug!). It returns badly formatted data if an utf-8 locale is
in effect. I just added a workaround which corrects the format again,
committed to CVS. Please give it a try and tell me if it works for you.
