That's wrong. The DVD image mode is for opaque DVD images which were 
ripped with another tool. If you ripped the titles using dvd::rip, just
go ahead, but don't switch to another operating mode.

Just to be sure there is no misunderstanding, that's how it works:

  * start a new project
  * on the "Storage" tab give your project a name, keep "Rip data from DVD..."
    selected and save your project file
  * switch to the "Rip title" tab and hit "Read TOC"
  * select one or more titles and hit "Rip selected title(s)..." button
  * for each title
    * make your settings (Clip & Zoom, Subtitles and stuff)
    * on the "Transcode" tab hit "Transcode"

That's it.
