[dvd::rip] dvd::rip 0.97.6 segfaults on FC4 x86_64

Hallo,
 my system is an AMD Athlon64 3400+ and I use Fedora Core 4 x86_64.
I recentely updated dvd::rip to version 0.97.6 from the FreshRPMs repo through yum, previously I was using version 0.52.6 with no problems at all. But now, dvd::rip keeps segfaulting on start, it doesn't evn show the GUI. Since dvd::rip and the relative gtk2 perl modules were the only packages updated, I doubt it's a dependency issue.
Anyway I prepared a standard strace log of it, it's 1.2Mb so I compressed it.
Any help is welcome, if you need additional informations just ask!
