Thanks for the answer, I tried to launch dvd::rip with any theme I have
installed but it segfaults anyway, here are some of the dmesg responses:
dvdrip[3510]: segfault at 00000000ae906fbc rip 0000003c510a014b rsp
00007fffffd47fe0 error 6
dvdrip[3549]: segfault at 00000000ae906fbc rip 0000003c510a014b rsp
00007fffffd21650 error 6
dvdrip[3563]: segfault at 00000000ae906fbc rip 0000003c510a014b rsp
00007fffffbae270 error 6
dvdrip[3620]: segfault at 00000000ae906fbc rip 0000003c510a014b rsp
00007fffffcc80e0 error 6
The perl gtk2 module seems to work, anyway:
$ perl -MGtk2 -e'Gtk2->init' && echo "Gtk2 works"
Gtk2 works
So by now, I still have no idea on what's happening, I'm switching back
to 0.52.6, waiting for the 0.97 series to become stable, if you need any
further testing just ask.

I recentely updated dvd::rip to version 0.97.6 from the FreshRPMs
<http://stentz.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=903> repo through yum,
previously I was using version 0.52.6 with no problems at all. But now,
dvd::rip keeps segfaulting on start, it doesn't evn show the GUI. Since
dvd::rip and the relative gtk2 perl modules were the only packages
updated, I doubt it's a dependency issue.
Anyway I prepared a standard strace log of it, it's 1.2Mb so I
compressed it.
Any help is welcome, if you need additional informations just ask!
I can't exactly see where the segfault occurs, but it looks like a
problem with Gtk2 resp. the cursors of your Bluecurve theme, because the
latest file accesses indicate that. Probably switching to another theme
already solves the problem.
If not please check if the Gtk2 Perl module does work at all by
executing this command line:
% perl -MGtk2 -e'Gtk2->init' && echo "Gtk2 works"
If this doesn't print "Gtk2 works" or segfaults there is a low-level
problem with the Gtk2 Perl module resp. with your gtk2 C library, X
and/or theme installation. You should ask the maintainer of your
packages for help or post to the gtk-perl-list@xxxxxxxxx mailing list.
