 before I spent four hours or so trying to get ffmpeg h264 two-pass to work, building cvs versions of various things etc  I do google a lot too - should look on the list first.
 
 I suppose this issue is in the docs and I didn't see it?
 
 Single pass doesn't look good at all.
 
 Guess mencoder is the only option for h264 encoding for now.
