Hiho,
I just pushed a huge CVS update to the mirror at exit1.org, because I'm
planning a new release on the unstable branch. I'm not sure if it's
really ready for a release yet, although I tested a lot last weekend.
That's why I announce this CVS pre-release here to get some feedback
from hardcore users... ;)
If you feel brave enough to checkout this really new stuff, please
download the recent version from CVS. But before you proceed you need to
download & install/update a few Perl modules:
http://search.cpan.org/CPAN/authors/id/M/ML/MLEHMANN/AnyEvent-1.02.tar.gz
http://www.exit1.org/packages/Gtk2-Ex-FormFactory/dist/Gtk2-Ex-FormFactory-0.60.tar.gz
http://www.exit1.org/packages/Event-RPC/dist/Event-RPC-0.89.tar.gz
http://www.exit1.org/packages/Event-ExecFlow/dist/Event-ExecFlow-0.60.tar.gz
Just download, extract and run the usual
% perl Makefile.PL
% make test
% su root make install
for them. All modules should be easy to install without further
dependencies.
Then checkout the current dvd::rip development version using
% cvs -z3 -d :pserver:cvs@xxxxxxxxxxxxx:/cvs login
% cvs -z3 -d :pserver:cvs@xxxxxxxxxxxxx:/cvs checkout dvdrip
Change to the "dvdrip" directory, modify your PATH to include $PWD/bin
and execute dvd::rip from right there (no need to run "make install",
this way an existent installation of dvd::rip isn't touched at all):
% cd dvdrip
% perl Makefile.PL
[ignore missing .mo files, but not complaints about missing prerequisites!!!]
% make
% export PATH="$PWD/bin:$PATH"
% dvdrip
If you want to know what's new in the release, just read the
Changes.unstable file, which is also available online from the CVS web
interface:
http://cvs.exit1.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/dvdrip/Changes.unstable?root=dvdrip&view=markup
(just skip the big "Bugfixes" chapter and go over to the "Features" ;)
IMPORTANT NOTE / CLUSTER MODE:
==============================
This release has a dummy cluster mode only! No operation yet, only dummy
stuff for testing the execution logic, GUI updates and so on. But if
you're interested only in the new cluster mode, I must disappoint you
(sorry Triffid ;), it's not ready yet, but you see I'm working on it ;)
Of course: feedback is welcome!
Regards,
Joern
