Hello J=F6rn,

thank you very much for your fast and kind answer!

Yes... I asked mplayer only for the VOB file of that video track (which gav=
e me one audio track), however tcprobe showed the data for the whole DVD. T=
his is the output of tcprobe with that one VOB file:

$ tcprobe -i unnamed-001.vob=20
[tcprobe] MPEG program stream (PS)
[tcprobe] summary for unnamed-001.vob, (*) =3D not default, 0 =3D not detec=
ted
import frame size: -g 720x576 [720x576]=20
     aspect ratio: 4:3 (*)
       frame rate: -f 25.000 [25.000] frc=3D3=20
                   PTS=3D0.1336, frame_time=3D40 ms, bitrate=3D7500 kbps
      audio track: -a 3 [0] -e 48000,16,2 [48000,16,2] -n 0x2000 [0x2000]=
=20
                   PTS=3D0.0536, bitrate=3D192 kbps
                   -D 2 --av_fine_ms 0 (frames & ms) [0] [0]

So for that file, tcprobe also detects only one track (numbered 3, strange.=
..) - if I do a tcprobe of the main video track, I see three audio tracks:

$ tcprobe -i unnamed-001.vob=20
[tcprobe] MPEG program stream (PS)
[tcprobe] summary for unnamed-001.vob, (*) =3D not default, 0 =3D not detec=
ted
import frame size: -g 720x576 [720x576]=20
     aspect ratio: 4:3 (*)
       frame rate: -f 25.000 [25.000] frc=3D3=20
                   PTS=3D0.1336, frame_time=3D40 ms, bitrate=3D7500 kbps
      audio track: -a 0 [0] -e 48000,16,2 [48000,16,2] -n 0x2000 [0x2000]=
=20
                   PTS=3D0.0296, bitrate=3D192 kbps
                   -D 2 --av_fine_ms 24 (frames & ms) [0] [0]
      audio track: -a 1 [0] -e 48000,16,2 [48000,16,2] -n 0x2000 [0x2000]=
=20
                   PTS=3D0.0296, bitrate=3D192 kbps
                   -D 2 --av_fine_ms 24 (frames & ms) [0] [0]
      audio track: -a 2 [0] -e 48000,16,2 [48000,16,2] -n 0x2000 [0x2000]=
=20
                   PTS=3D0.0296, bitrate=3D192 kbps
                   -D 2 --av_fine_ms 24 (frames & ms) [0] [0]

I think there are four audio tracks in total on that file, but only three a=
re used in the latter (main) video track and the fourth (as the only audio =
track) in the first video track.

This happened to me on some DVDs (so it isn't a single idiot-made disc ;)

> This multiple audio track handling in dvd::rip 0.52.x using these two=20

I've absolutely no problem with using the audio track selection interface. =
My problem is that all four audio tracks are shown, and I only learn that m=
y selected track wasn't the right one when the second pass fails. Then, I'l=
l switch to the command line because I don't want to lose the data of the f=
irst pass. So ideally the audio track selection interface of dvdrip could f=
ind out which of the global DVD audio tracks are available in the one I cho=
se for transcoding, and display me only them? Maybe by tcprobing the ripped=
 VOB file instead of using teh probed global-DVD data?

Sorry for being too busy with other projects, otherwise I'd take this as a =
chance to look into the sources :)

Have a nice day,
cato minor.
