Subject: [dvd::rip] unable to transcode from file and other problems

Hi

my env is:

Mandriva 2006 - kernel 2.6.12 - perl 5.8.7 - transcode 1.0.2

i was using dvdrip 9.7.6 with some problems ,so i passed to the last
version:

0.97.8 but two probles are still there

i'm using xdiv4 encoding

1) Selecting "Encode dvd on the fly" selecting "scan value" for volume
rescaling it does not work...

no problem if i select "Rip to hard disk..." ,i rip a sample chapter and the

volume is correctly sampled

the error i get is

"Can't locate object method "chapter" via package
"Video::DVDRip::JobPlanner" at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/Video/DVDRip/JobPlanner.pm line 1552."

2) i,m able to correctly transcode the dvd on the fly (i tested only a
chapter)

but i'm not able to perform the same operation if i rip the dvd to hard disk

first. (i performed testing using a sample chapter)

the job immediately ends

here the logfile relate to the command...

"Start job 'Transcode video - title #1, chapter #2, single pass'

Wed Apr 19 19:48:39 2006 Executing command: mkdir -m 0775 -p
'/home/bong/Video/Barry/tmp' && cd /home/bong/Video/Barry/tmp && mkdir -p
/home/bong/Video/Barry/avi/001 && execflow -n 0 transcode -H 10 -a 1 -x
vob -i /home/bong/Video/Barry/vob/001-C002/ -w 1364,50 -b 128,0,2 -s
9.545 --a52_drc_off -f 25 -Y 40,4,40,4 -B 10,7,8 -y xvid4 -o
/home/bong/Video/Barry/avi/001/Barry-001-C002.avi --print_status 20 && echo
EXECFLOW_OK

Wed Apr 19 19:48:40 2006 Job 'Transcode video - title #1, chapter #2, single
pass' finished "

if i run the execflow command in batch mode i get the following error:

"[fileinfo.c:118] file read error: Is a directory

(extract_ac3.c) no file type specified, assuming RAW stream "

infact the -i parameter points to a directory,if i specify the -i parameter
with the complete path to file it runs fine.

3) when i encode on the fly the destination avi file is correctly created
but

the job does not ends,looking at the "top" command output i can see tcdemux

still running.

if i run the same command using transcode batch mode i have no problems.

these 3 problems where present also in 0.97.6 version

thanks in advance

Maurizio
