[dvd::rip] rarlnx271.sfx.bin and libstdc++.so.2.8

Subject: [dvd::rip] rarlnx271.sfx.bin and libstdc++.so.2.8

Hello,

for me vobsub creation does not work.

I think the problem is the 'rarlnx271.sfx.bin' I donwloaded from exit1.org.
./unrar: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.2.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I only have libstdc++.5 and libstdc++.6 installed (gcc 3.3.6 / gcc 3.4.5). I tried if some symlinks would make him happy, but I probably did it the wrong way.

How do I get libstdc++.so.2.8? (My system is gentoo, so I should be able to install another gcc version)

Btw. why can't transcode / dvdrip use rar3.x? The 2.x is a few years old, or? Its distributed binary, so its only a matter of time until its completly incompatible to current linux systems.

Greetings,
Holger Brandsmeier

dvd::rip (& transcode) seems to be a relly nice piece of software. I failed to fullfill my needs (mainly dual audio + subtitles) with other tools, and dvd::rip is really easy. So thanks a lot!
