I've tried to re-rip disks that I was able to rip on previous versions of
Fedora (FC4) and transcode/dvd::rip ... with similar results.

Any idea what I should look out for--I mean, new/old, studio, format,
what? I've tried three random disks, each fails at a different stage
(I'm trying to rip only single chapters, not the whole disk).

I can run a simple extraction using transcode from the command line
successfully (although with one disk, ripping the subtitles caused a
hang, but ok without). The same disk, under dvdrip, hangs extracting the
preview images.

I guess it could be my dvd drive also.
