[dvd::rip] how to get the language right

I just installed dvd::rip and everything is working fine, but if I want to 
watch the movie by typing

mplayer syriana-001.vob

everything is in French. Both under Rip Title and Transcode the English tab 
as opposed to the French tab were selected.

It says, however, that all audio tracks are recorded anyways. How do I tell 
mplayer to playback the English audio track? I don't speak French! (and 
mplayer syriana-001.vob -alang en) did NOT do it)
