i don't see why not... i mean, dvd::rip is pretty good at what it does,
and the underlying tools needed are already there in linux.

i guess most of us agree with that.

i agree too, of course. i have used dvdshrink in windows, and i really
missed a linx equivalent. dvdshrink works passably well under wine,
but with certain flaws. and using wine to run windows applications is
not the solution. what we need is a native linux software using the
excellent tools we already have. so go for it, jörn!
