[dvd::rip] Preview images

Question: I installed Mandriva Linux this weekend - all new, free 
formats. I installed DVD:rip and I can rip the title but I can't get 
preview images nor can I get it to process. Help please! <griN!>

What can cause this?

For what it is worth I can't get Acid rip to read the DVD table of 
contents, and can't get DVDshrink to do much more than a few seconds of 
ripping... Prior to this I had pretty good results out of DVDshrink and 
AcidRip but I had sunchronization problems. DVD::rip I had not used for 
anything but reducing our DVDs to PlamPilot sizes with very good 
results.

Don't know where to start.
