Hello there.
First of all, thanx goes to the creators of dvd::rip. I switched to
linux about 3 months ago and was looking for some tool for dvdriping.
I used FairUse Wizard on windows before. And then I ran into
linuxappfinder.com's article about DVDripers and found out about
dvd::rip.
I was experimenting with it for an while, trying to master it enough
to be able to create descent backups of my DVDs. I have a HTPC box and
it's much more useful to have my favourite movies uploaded on HDD.
Problem no. 1: sometimes I have difficulties with subtitles, dvd::rip
recognizes available languages, but it's shifted, some languages are
not under it's language code. And sometimes I can't find certain
subtitles at all.
Problem no. 2: I was experimenting with right codec options and I
found out that there is something wrong with AC3 pass through option.
Source audio track has 6Ch but after transcoding, I have only 2
channels in my avi.
Some specs:
I'm running SuSE Linux 10.1 x64
dvdrip --version: 0.98.1
transcode --version: v1.0.2
tcprobe output of transcoded avi:
[tcprobe] RIFF data, AVI video
[avilib] V: 25.000 fps, codec=XVID, frames=1499, width=752, height=320
[avilib] A: 48000 Hz, format=0x2000, bits=16, channels=2, bitrate=448 kbps,
[avilib] 1499 chunks, 3358208 bytes, CBR
[tcprobe] summary for SW1-001.avi, (*) = not default, 0 = not detected
import frame size: -g 752x320 [720x576] (*)
frame rate: -f 25.000 [25.000] frc=3
audio track: -a 0 [0] -e 48000,16,2 [48000,16,2] -n 0x2000 [0x2000]
bitrate=448 kbps
length: 1499 frames, frame_time=40 msec, duration=0:00:59.960
Anyone can help me with this ?
