Ouch, I'm getting old and forget features I built into dvd::rip! Indeed
I added *transcoding* multiple titles during 0.97.x development! Just
select as many titles as you like, switch to the transcode tab and hit
"Transcode".
As you found out already each title is still transcoded with it's own
settings. So the right way of transcoding multiple titles is following
this recipe (you found it out already, but this is fo all guys using the
mailing list archive ;):
1. Select your titles on the "Rip title" tab
(multi-selection by pressing [Ctrl])
2. Rip all these titles
3. Select one title after another and make
your settings for it
4. Go back to the "Rip title" tab
5. Select all titles again (multi-selection was gone
when selecting titles for parameter adjustion)
6. Go to the "Transcode" tab and hit "Transcode"
I will update the documentation accordingly, this feature got totally
lost in my mind... :(

I wouldn't suggest that. It only works if you don't decide to change
options which affect the job plan (2-pass encoding, audio track
selection, container selection, video bitrate calculation method and
probably more).
