Dude, you need to learn to show some respect.

I asked a simple question... I didn't even install the latest DVD::Rip because I couldn't - due to dependencies on my system -I did look at an ancient version fetched by Synaptic from my distro's repository.

The purpose of my original e-mail was to find out if it is possible to directly rip and encode audio tracks from DVDs to MP3 and/or OGG from a GUI shell, in a single process, being able to select the tracks.

The short answer is no, one can not. You can only rip to WAV.

That was the purpose of the message, not to annoy anyone. Yet I got as an answer some lectures on "read the FAQ" and one response in a patronizing tone. In short, lecturing me instead of contemplating the usefulness of the functionality I asked for.

Since everyone seems to be so sensitive on this list, I'll leave now and leave you guys alone.
