Hi everybody
I''ve been using dvd::rip and the output files are just perfect,
but... for the first time I had a problem with audio and video
syncronization.
Original DVD works fine in Kaffeine and in my external DVD player.
I'm not sure if I'm currently struggling with the same problem. I'm
ripping several seasons of a TV series. The most recent season seems
to have a copy protection that creates problems with transcode
because I get an offset between audio and video (more exact: after
transcoding audio starts immediately but video is several seconds
black which doesn't happen when watching the DVD).
Because VLC (VideoLan client) shows the DVD in the right way I had
the idea to use it's streaming feature to store the movie as a file.
If I use MPEG PS as the format (without transcoding) I get a file
that works without audio offset. But when I transcode this file I get
the same problem. I can correct this manually using the transcode
option --av_fine_ms. But I have to determine the offset by trail and
error. Does somebody have an idea how I can determine this offset
directly from the PS file?
Jörg,
is there a possibility to add this transcode option manually in
dvd::rip?
Regards
Michael
