Good evening,

  For information, I have tried reinstalling all previously installed perl 
related packets and also dvdrip, both from aptitude and from cpan : the 
problem persists. I couldn't install dvdrip-0.52.x.x because most of the 
dependancies are very old and I didn't feel like dowgrading half my system.

Because I have problems with other pieces of software (firefox, audacity...) 
and mint 4.0 seems more or less experimental to me, I think I will switch to 
kubuntu tomorrow.
