[dvd::rip] lsdvd and libdvdread

Subject: [dvd::rip] lsdvd and libdvdread

I understand that my question is not dvd::rip direclty related, but
after extensive googling I'm not finding answers ...hoping someone
here might help

On some DVDs the dvd content is red incorrectly by lsdvd ...titles
have wrong number of chapters and wrong duration and wrong number of
frames.
When reading same DVD on windows using other tools I get correct
content. On linux the issue is even after I decrypt the DVD using
other tool.

I'm assuming lsdvd and/or libdvdread are old not capable read new
formats, however I could not find any newer version.
Anybody found a solution?

My versions:
libdvdread-0.9.7
lsdvd-0.16
libdvdplay-1.0.1
