I'm attempting to use dvd::rip to convert my existing DVD collection
into MPEG-2 files compatible with my Hauppauge MVP.
I'm searched the mailing list and this error appears to have been
reported a few times over the years, but I was unable to find a solution
to the problem.
I've tried various different configurations, yet mplex always reports
output like the following. Any suggestions on how to correct this or
better way to convert the DVDs would be greatly appreciated.
Is no one else experiencing this? I've tried several different DVDs and
the result is very much the same with each one.
However, if I first rip the DVD to an AVI format (such as xvid) I can
then use a transcoding script to convert it to an MPEG-2 file. While
this does provide a usable file it seems like a rather wasteful and
convoluted method of getting there.
Should I not be able to extract the DVD video directly to an MPEG-2
file? Am I using the wrong settings somehow? Or possibly missing
something else?
