For what I understand, you want to make a copy of a DVD, or iso image.
dvd::rip is not suited for this - its purpose is to encode particular
titles/chapters to a different compressed file formats - like xvid in
avi container, etc.

For what you want, look for dvdbackup, or lxdvdrip. Also, on my suse
system, the latest k3b program is capable of doing this. Also, in
konqueror (kde), I have kio-slave, which enables urls like videodvd:/,
which opens the dvd file structure, so you can copy it on your HDD.
Then, you can use k3b (or other dvd burning tool) to create iso image
out of it.
