It looks you have installed an older version of dvd::rip with the
package manager for your Linux distribution and now try to update it
with a source installation. The defaults target directory for source
installation is /usr/local so now you have two different dvd::rip
versions mixed in your system, which may cause bad things happening...
You need to remove the old version (using your package manager) and
everything should work as expected (with dvdrip program placed in
/usr/local/bin).
