Hi Adam!

I've had several movies where the beginning gets chopped off, typically about
4-5 minutes. If I rip/encode them in k3b, I get the same problem. I don't
find the missing first 5 minutes on any other track.
Two recent examples are "Speed racer" and "Sex in the City: The Movie"
Any ideas?

I had the same problem and think that it has to do with some sort of copy protection. I also had rips where there was a big offset of video and audio.

My work-around for these issues is to use VLC to stream the movie into a PS stream and than transcode this stream with the settings (scaling, crop sizes, etc.) that I get from dvd::rip.

I hope that helps.

Regards

Michael
