This is possible. You need exactly on node where dvdrip-master runs on.
All nodes need access to the same central storage device (e.g. using 
NFS) and ripping their DVD's to it. It's no problem to connect several 
frontends to the same master. All GUI's will show the same state and 
will update accordingly.
