[dvd::rip] Exception when opening subtitle preview window

hello,

i've installed dvd::rip 0.98.10 on ubuntu.

as the subtitles from vobsub file don't look good (they're almost unreadable because the text and background color generates too less contrast), i'm trying to render them directly to the movie and manipulate colors to generate better contrast.

to avoid transcoding the whole movie to check whether my preference settings look ok, i'm using the preview window open button.
when i click on it, the  following exception window appears:

An internal exception was thrown!
The error message was:

can't read  at /usr/share/perl5/Video/DVDRip/SrtxFile.pm line 53.

i found the same error report on an earlier post in the archives but no answer or solution to it.

the same happens to me with version 0.98.9.

i would be glad if there is a solution to this. thanks!
