I think that mekes no sense... You have to rip the dvd firstly...
Complete! Otherwise you won't be successful to transcode the material!

Ok, libdvdcss2 seems to be installed...

I had the same problem here this evening with ripping "Waynes World2".
But I had success as I put the dvd in my external drive. Do you have an
external dvd-drive? Maybe it will be a good idea to try it out...

You can start dvdrip from xterm with "-d n" option (where n is the level
of debugging). You can put the output in a textfile and post it...
Maybe there is a message which tells the problem?!
